Why this work matters to me
When I was 12, the electricity was shut off at my family's home on 12th Street.
What stayed with me wasn't simply that money was tight. It was how isolating money problems can feel when you don't have someone in your corner — someone you trust enough to ask a question, talk through your options, or help you figure out what to do next.
Years later, after thousands of conversations about money, I still believe one of the most powerful things we can give someone is a place to ask an honest question without embarrassment or judgment.
That belief sits behind my books, my workshops, Money Choices, and 12th & Good Street.
Money may involve numbers. But it has always been about people.
